On Wednesday morning they woke up to glorious sunshine and temperatures which hit over 25degrees. They began the day with team building activities. The children worked in teams of 8 and had to guide each other through a jungle obstacle course using their voices and the person in front to guide to them. Some teams were very successful, with Milly shining as a natural leader. Other groups broke up as the tried to make their way through camo netting or over fences while blindfolded.
In another activity, the teams had to work together to rescue some teddy bears from an island surrounded by ‘burning acid’. They had to figure out a way to lift the bears to safety without touching the acid and using only each other, ropes and elastic to help them. Some members of the team shone with really ingenious ideas, particularly Bryce.
Wednesday afternoon they took a stroll to the local village out Stansted Mountfitchet to visit a 10th century castle. The sun shone and the children loved it as the castle was filled with animals roaming free such as goats, deer, peacocks, hens, ducks and turkeys. They really enjoyed feeding them and some even got to hold a week old baby chicken!
